So this is a build of a different sort. I know this is the place where you can post up your ride but this is a build, and my ride is going to be on it.

Here's what I started with. It's an old RV pull behind trailer. A tree fell on it years ago and since it's about 2 miles from my house I see it all the time. So after offering the owner $200 me and my dad started to yank it out of the woods.

Here's the trailer as it sat in the woods.

Gettin the trailer out of the woods. We had to chain the pickup to the tractor because it was a steep hill and the ground was still very wet.

Burned what used to be the living quarters. And there was a pretty sweet deck under it.

Next step is to make fenders for it and reienforce them so i can drive over them and build a floor. Then a coat of paint and some lights and i'll be good to go!

My trailer is an old camper as well. It's got a 24 foot deck and 2 3500 lb axles. They really do work great for cheap trailers for mud trucks. I like how low they are, ramps are really not needed if your tires are big enough. Only difference with mine is I let somebody else hack the body off first.

I had fun doing the hacking myself. I actually put a chain around the top and yanked it off with my TJ. (It was fun :D:D:D:D)

The carpet had to goback to the original owner along with those 8-tracks lmao. And i can't beleve you stuck an axe through that glass in the middle of my yard :013: and that was great when you almost got crushed by the flying crapper tank!

You plan on doing what with this trailer? Hopefully not hauling your Jeep. I'm pretty sure those axles are rather undersized for the load of a Jeep. Also, the wheels are too far forward for the overall deck length. That thing will be all over the road.

I agree that the axles should be moved back about a foot. That would be a good idea, or lengthen the tongue out to balance it out, either way. I'm cutting about 3 feet off the back of mine to address the very same problem, but I'm starting with a longer deck. The axles are plenty heavy enough for a 5000lb jeep, it's the tires I would worry about. The tires under mine, which I swear is a twin, were pretty dry rotted and not safe to run down the highway.

Yeah i'm going to haul my jeep. I'm going to be addressing the balance problem believe me. And the axles are rated for 5,000 each which is fine for the weight of my jeep.

you can buy those double axle fenders at tractor supply. no need to fab them.

I don't think the T.S. fenders would hold up too well to being driven over

yeah the tractor supply ones are pretty nice, but not thick enough to drive over. You have to make your own to drive on them, that's what I'm doing.
