I thought I read some where that if you buy a gun online, it has to be shipped to your local gun store where you have to go in person and pick it up?

Thats for pistols. You dont have to register rifles.

Ronin152

That seems backwards. You will let people have rifles but they have to register their pistols?

Neither applies here.......this is an upper that fits on AR lower. No registration required. Thats why it can be shipped directly to you.

Jeff,

When are we all getting together and going to the range again? I just want to see what size hole that thing leaves in a target.

complete rifles bought online must be sent through an FFL as well. Ask me how I know in a week or so.

I'm gonna guess about 1/2".

Is it possible then to buy all parts seperately then assemble it yourself and not have to register it?

Even a stripped lower has to be registered.

You can build an AR from parts, but like eddy said....the lower reciever (which you have to have) has to be registered. It is "the gun" as far as the ATF is concerned.

So after a little drive down 79 today, I now have my new toy as well. When are we going shooting?

busij44

Took the new toy out Saturday.....Got it on the bench ready to go and "click". No BOOM?? WTF!! Extracted the round, hardly a mark on the primer. I was warned that some of the Mil-surp 50 BMG has some very hard primers. Looks like I got some. Ordered a Wolff x-tra power hammer spring form Brownells. I should be good to go when I get it. A buddy of mine just picked a Tantal at of all places.....Dunhams. Got to put some lead down range with it. The 5.45's are sweet shooters.

I heard that Dunham's had them. How much was it? Did they have ammo ?

busij44

I think he said $595.00? He got the last one. The salesman at Dunhams said they sold them all the same day they put them out.

Not sure about ammo...

I have some of this stuff ....Russian 7N6. Price is right and it shoots great.
Only problem is its corrosive, gotta clean the gun after you shoot it.

That's the same tin that Dunhams has(stopped in tonight). They wanted $250 for one tin. Still works out cheaper than the hundred rounds I picked up at Ace when I picked up the gun.

How much is shipping on that? Do you have to send them all your info before you can buy any ammo?

Mine was $536 shipped btw and lucky for me a buddy works at ACE and hooked up the transfer fee.

You can email them and find out what shipping would be, and what info they would need.

I bought mine from Aim Surplus in Ohio. There website doesn't seem to be working?
