Crappy pics, took them after the yard was locked up. This was my first XJ. :crybaby:
Hedds is ok, just a little banged up.

35MPH wreck. The silver SUV to the right is the car she hit.

Wow that is surprising that the Xj got as damaged as it did compared to the minimal amount of damage done to that other thing. I thought it was always supposed to be the reverse lol.

Glad shes ok though! Time for a new Jeep.

That front end is really shoved back, I've seen ins. companies call em losses with alot less than that.

Glad to hear that she is okay!

I am betting that thing is a total loss.

What Jeep is next? Time to go Wrangler and just get it over with?

The damage to the jeep is because of how the hit happened. It hit the hardest part of the other car when it hit the wheel. You are pushing against the axle, suspension, and pretty much the whole engine. I had a similar accident with driving a 73 ltd, and I hit a ford contour. The contour flew sideways, but the ltd took more damage because I hit his front wheel.

As for a total, I would say the jeep is a total. It will need a whole new front subframe, and it will be well over what kbb thinks the car is worth. The other car will most likely be fixable, but it won't be cheap.

wow... heather. glad your ok. xj looks totaled 100%. the other car most likely has frame/uni-body damage. it might be close to totaled to... them hyundia's are pretty cheap

nope, sure didnt. i honestly dont remember hitting my head but there's a spot on the windshield that was obviously hit by something...i.e my head. wasnt bad though didnt even break the skin or bruise it was just red and swollen for a few hours. lucky it wasnt a faster speed.

Wrecker would know better than most but that looks totalled to me. Do the doors open and shut like they used to?

hedds

no i couldnt even open it from the inside but i'm sure a lot of that had to do with the fact that i couldnt really move my hand...the cop got it open so i could get out but it def doesnt open/shut right

the XJ is surely totalled ,there is no chance that it will get fixed ..not even with used/aftermarket parts ..

Glad everyone is ok
