Just curious - what size rim? Do they have an inner bead protector?

Then like me (and Steve who welded mine) - waste of time... But they look nice!

I lost inner beads often. I'd rather have regular wheels that have bead savers.

Might be the wrong term. I'm talking about the ridge on the wheel that helps hold the tire in place, I think you thought I meant dual beadlocks :)

My beadlocks don't have the ridge, didn't realize its importance until I was losing inner beads more often than not.

there is a lip around the outer edge of the rim where I welded it.Im hoping inner beads aint a problem, never popped a inner,at least they are easy to set, plus I gooed the wee out of em too.

I just welded a set on my wheels last weekend. I never lost an inside bead with the other wheels that I have. I used narrow wheels to help out with that problem and so far so good.

Yours are 16.5 rim right?

Those are held in place only by air pressure which is why 16.5 guys need the double beadlocks.

His beadlocks are what people call homemade. You order some rings from a company and weld them to your rims. I think I used the same kit on your dad's jeep.

I have 16.5 diy beadlocks , this is what I did for the inner beads
http://www.planet4x4.net/forums/165beadhold.php
It should help alot , was a pain to get the inner bead to seat over the new lip.

good idea... are the tires hard to pop over the piece of metal that you welded on the wheel?
