View Full Version : Anyone hunt with a pistol? I have a .357 Ruger Super Blackhawk new model

it was part of the grand cherokee deal. Didn't know if anyone wanted to trade for another gun.

I'd like a large caliber revolver... but open to anything. Not sure about this whole "cowboy action" thing lol.

it's a neat gun though, just figured i'd check. If nobody would be interested i'll just keep it and shoot it.

i have a Red Hawk 44.mag it's fun... never hunted with it.. but i want to.

I hunt with a pistol, Taurus Raging Bull.

The Super Blackhawk is a pretty nice gun, my dad has one in 45 Colt/ 45ACP.
You looking to just sell?

man if i didn't have a dan wesson .357 mag i would buy it. but shit... this is the most accurate gun i've shot... i don't need another haha

I have the Ruger Super Redhawk with a 9 1/2" barrel that I hunt with. I scoped it the year before last but I took that back off since I seem to do much better with open sights. Yeah those Blackhawks are the cowboy style aren't they. I shot my buddies and it just felt awkward to me. And that Raging Bull... So I'm at the range and this guy is shooting one and he asks if I want to shoot it. I figure mine is a .44 mag his is a .454 how much different could it be right? The damn thing wanted to jump out of my hand. That's a whole lotta gun dude.

gun shop offered me 300 for it today. if anyone wants it i'll go 300 on it rather than trade it in.

Its a great gun. I can attest to that :D Its a shame you dont like it Ryan. If I had the $$$ Id buy it back thats fo sho!!!

I haven't even shot it! lol. I'm gonna trade it in on something smaller. I took it camping and it was just too big. it is really cool though!

I have a Redhawk in .44 and a Super RH in .454... I can shoot the .44 all day, but after 18 or so through the .454, I'm done. I'd get killed if I bought another one. :(

I hunt with pistols, I have shot prob 3 or 4 with a 357. It has been a while since I have taken a pistol to hunt with but I do miss the challenge. the 357 that I hunted with have a 6" and the other a 8" barrel on them. I would love to hunt them with a semi... for hunting you would want a longer barrel for better accuracy.
