The Punisher seems to be a good name for a build that takes a lot of punishment and refuses to die, so I'm calling this thing The Punisher (yes I know a YJ has the name already but this is the ATV version). :040:

My 1999 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 is getting some improvements. It's already sporting the relocated radiator with a Jeep Cherokee electric fan, temperature gauge, Titan 589 tires, and front Warn winch.

1. Tore apart the annoyingly complicated rear drive shaft to replace a worn bearing and clean everything. I got the bearing for $5 ($30 at the dealer) from thebigbearingstore.com they have bearings, rode ends, and other goodies at great prices.

2. Got some used front coilovers on ebay for $25 to my door that weren't blown out like mine were.

3. Took off the torn and beat plastic skid plate and cut a new one out of old aluminum street signs (pictures soon).

4. Cut some drain holes in the battery box and I'm working on waterproofing the electronics some more.

5. I put a larger air filter on the snorkel, put a filter on the crankcase vent line, and extended the two carb breather lines up to the snorkel.

6. I took apart the Warn 2500 lb winch I have on the front and cleaned everything, greased it, and ordered a 60' Amsteel Blue synthetic winch rope for it from ebay for $46 (so worth it). I also sealed it up well with silicone sealant real good.

7. I went to Harbor Freight and for $75 I got a Chicago 3000 lb camouflaged radio controlled winch for the rear complete with 35ft cable, roller fairlead, and mounting plate. This week I'll make up a way to mount it to the rear frame. Simple two wire hook-up and the wireless remote looks like a normal car door lock key fob. I also got the 2 year no-questions-asked warranty. First thing I did today was take the winch apart and waterproof everything with silicone sealant.

8. For $15 on ebay I got a Dynojet carb jet kit so after I do some jetting I'll have WOT again.

I've been busy the last week and I'm just getting started.
