So I finally got a chance to go up to my favorite place to hike and camp, Black Moshannon State Park/Forrest.

My best friend that I grew up with and I have been going for a number of years but had a lapse (kids will do that) the last couple of years.

We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. The weather was perfect; not too hot and not too cold. Surprisingly there were not a lot of people there (at least where we were) and it remained a very quiet and laid back weekend.

My buddie forgot the tent poles or they just weren't in plain sight when he loaded everything up so we had to rig that sh-t.

Thanks.

It is public area. The little cabin is some leased thing; I don't know I have been trying to check into it, but there are tons of them all over the area.

My friend has been going there with his dad for years and I started to go when I got my drivers license. The road to get down to the creek at that area is only drivable in a 4x4 so not too many people go down there. They do have a hiking trail that goes where we were camping and then across the bridge and a couple miles (maybe 8) until the end.

He goes up there for trout season and he says its a good time but lately a little packed. The forrest and park commission have been closing up some of the spots because people keep littering.
