So I have rebuilt three scouts since I could drive. The first was a 1973 that I used as my daily driver. Than I was givin my 1978 which I built to offroad I have posted some pics of it. Last march I bought this 1974 scout to restore. It has 60,000 orginal miles a 304 V8 and a 4 speed. It has needed alot of work. New floors, rockers, quarter panels, body mounts. the fenders were patched. It will be painted Go mango orange with a frost white top when its done. I also put a 3 inch suspension lift on it. Here are some pics of its progress.

When I bought it:

I bought this Scout off a guy in Altoona. He is a real character they newest car he owned was a 1975 Riveria. He drove the scout as his winter vehicle. He has a 1968 Dodge pickup he runs in the summer. On sundays to church he drove either a 73 pontiac convertible or 75 riveria. The amazing part is that non of his cars were restored they were all bought brand new and taken care of incredible well. The dodge was a hand me down. Last winter he started have heart problems and couldnt deal with the scout being his daily driver in the winter. He bought a yukon and sold me the scout at really good price. He wanted to make sure it was well taken care of.

I like the looks of the scouts.. always thought of getting one for my self but never did it. nice work on the restore. it takes alot of time and patience to do a project like that. I seem to lack both...

I like it, even though Toyota calls it a clunker (watch toyota's cash for clunker commercial and the truck they call a clunker looks like a scout)
