Last time I checked, 50 was available if you could afford it. Its always expensive cause there is alot of material involved with it.

There really isnt that much of a demand for it, as compared to the people stuffing 3-5000 rounds of .223 or 5.56 in their closet. .223 is alot harder to come by than 50 cause there is a huge demand for .223. Think of all those AR variants that were sold in recent months. Now figure all of those people want at least 1000rnds to keep with it. Plus the people who shoot it already, and the manufacturers have to make all the other calibers, at the same time. Supply gives way to demand causing a shortage on the private market. Most people arnt buying 1000rnds of 50 at a time. But then again at $3.99/RND it would take deep pockets to stockpile 50.

The 50 AR came out last year, I believe. In fact I know a guy selling a complete upper for $1500. Personally I would rather have .308, or 6.8mm. and of course I am looking into getting a .22LR just for shits and grins and to give my wallet a rest.....
