well, i have been plugging away at this cj7 for a guy in hrja for a week or so now, and i have made some progress. i am putting a new frame under it and making a belly up skid. i also had to make brackets for the shackle reversal setup as well. heres some pics of the progress

Justin,
Looking good. Nice job on the custom brackets. I was thinking you were just going to go through the frame and sleeve it, but that looks good. Can't wait to drive it again!

i was going to sleeve the frame, but when i got to looking at it, the added shackle length and body mount bracket would contact when the suspnsion flexed. so i reverted back to the way that works lol!

it will get some tubes to tie the cross pieces together

180* bend and no kinks!

it will get some braces over to the frame bracket, but this works best to clear the driveshaft and still protect the trans

Looks good!

Are you bending the plate yourself or getting it like that? I'm just wondering what your using if you are bending it.

you could do it with a torch a bfh and some time....but it would be easier and faster to have it bent for ya

Yep, I do that sometimes and it kinda sucks. His looks nice and clean and is rounded at the bend so it looked different to me. Maybe scraps from something or a home made brake.

my dad sold one to his buddy a few years ago...we delivered it in my old truck, the tie down broke and it flew through the back window almost hit me in the neck and flipped up and out of the bed and landed on the road....broke the handles and thats it. ill see if he still has it, he might sell it

i made some tabs to add skid plates under the tranny and transfer case. then i undersized the plates to let water/salt/mud drain off. they are also unboltable to aid in fluid draining/ access for work.

and finished with plates bolted on
