I just got this new toy. It's a Longevity Plasma Cutter. It's a 40amp machine capable of 1/2" and 3/4" sever cut. Cost was $400 shipped. It's cheap because it's made in china, (I know, it's probably gonna break). Has a 5yr parts and labor warranty. Customer service is good so far. I've already had to talk to them cause they sent me the wrong torch. They sent me a TIG torch instead of plasma cutter torch, but quickly shipped me a new torch when I told them, and they didn't want the tig torch back, don't know why, so now I have a tig torch free to anyone who has a longevity tig machine. A comparable lincoln, miller, thermal dynamics, etc. would cost around $1500 so I think I got a good deal. Being this is the first time I've played with a plasma cutter, I can't compare it to other brands. I did cut some 1/4" angle scrap and it went through pretty nice and fast. Here's their webpage for anyone interested, their prices are ridiculously cheap.

Looks Nice I have a Lotos brand of the Cut40D its been working well.

Does your torch use the long or short electrodes? I've been thinking of going to long ones but dont know if it would fit.

Also what TIG torch is it the WP-17? I've been looking for a new one I stomped the old one good. (tripped on my cat)

Shipping took about a week since it came from california via ups ground.

It uses short electrodes. Long ones might fit if you get the right size ceramic cover

I'm not sure what tig torch it is. Here's a pic of it without the tail or shielding cup attached. It's yours if you want it. Comes with a couple different shielding cup sizes

I have the Pilot Arc Version of the 40D. Uses a Trafimet torch, so parts are easy to get. So far its been flawless, and WELL worth the $$$. Wire it for 220 and you'll have no problem cutting 1/4 and 3/8's. Any thicker and it will struggle making a clean cut.

I'll eventually pony up for a torchmate, but I plan to use this one until I can either no longer get parts, or it just stops working. 3 year no-questions warranty is a big plus too.

I wired it for 220 since my welder runs 220 and it's on the same cart. You must have bought yours a little while ago cause now they offer 5yr warranty.

Nice. Is that 5yr comprehensive like the 3 year?

Forgot to say it earlier, but buy a consumable pack now before you need them and are in the middle of a project!

Yea it's 5yr comprehensive. I just ordered the consumable pack after playing with it and realizing I'm gonna need them since they only gave me a 3 pack with it.

Also if you have a ESAB welding dealer close you can get consumables there, the torch for the CUT40s is a copy of a older ESAB model I'll see about digging up the part number. Edit: found it the CUT40 torch is a copy of the old model ESAB PT-31
