a guy from our club wanted some tube fenders made up for his YJ, so he stopped down and we made up a set today that used his old inner fenders and added some stronger tube to the outside. they turned out really nice!

i have not really seen a set of tube fenders that i like either, i believe they serve a purpose and not really an asthetic function. but these almost have a willys-esque presence to them and i must say, as big as they are it looks pretty decent in person. i swooped the front back to give it a little difference from all of the other off the shelf stuff.

Cityslicker, i have been trying to cook up an idea for something for the xj's.

yota guy,

its hard to compete with the big guys. they have it all programmed and hit the go button then ship it. however the nice thing is that people who want something completely different or off the wall from the kits can come and see someone like me who can pretty much build exactly what a person has in mind, and its a local guy and material supplier that is getting the support.

yep, same here, i'd rather support local companies as well... its funny how that works too, since most of the posers, who are political, buy from huge companies, bolt stuff on and jump on the bolt-on-bandwagon...then when local companies are starved, they say "someone needs to help these businesses".... but anywho, i'd prolly go out of my way to fab something for $80 that i could buy for $85, haha people always say im retarded, just buy it and weld it on or together..... nawww, im good, i like to do my own work, b/c then its not the same as another that a robot welded together, that half the time the welds look like shit! production work = not pretty

you can do them like the old rev111 fenders that they dont make anymore...there was a thread somewhere maybe on jeepforum where a dude built tube fenders but made them highline and they turned out really well. i'll see if i can find it for ya

Justin looks good, alittle big for my taste, but nice.

Rev111 is back up and running, but you could buy a bender and materials to make your own set for what a set of theirs sells for now. I fab everything that I can as well. Only thing I wish I would have bought is more tabs, cutting them out with a grinder gets old.

lol i cut everything i do with a chop saw and grinder right now....til i get a band saw...yeah rev's shit is super expensive.

i think when i build my fenders im gonna build them like a normal fender with a 3 inch flare (like a stock tj flare) then add a few small tabs underneath so i can screw some plastic under them for inspection and stuff

i have a 64" vertical horizontal band saw with auto shutoff. i clamp a cut in, hit go and go do something else while it cuts. very sweet setup. i just bought a plasma cutter as well, just waiting for it to get here, i cant wait to use it.

I wanna do/get a set of highline tube fenders with a small (like 30 deg) 2-3" kickdown on the outer edge to take away from the "Dumbo ears" look.

And the sloped leading edge (or stepped version) helps ALOT in making them look a little better!

I like the purejeep "renegade style" tube fenders. I plan on replacing mine with a similar design
