I havent been around in a while due to the lack of internet. Laptop and one desktop had mechanical failures, and the other got the swine flu. Got a new laptop, so im back in business. lol. In the mean time I picked up a Ruger 10/22 All Weather. Syn Stock, Stainless barrel. Nothing special, just a ton of cheap semi auto fun.

At some point I want to make it a tack driver. E.R. Shaw in bridgeville does some nice barrels for these, and everything else easily obtainable. Parts, add ons and mods are as easily available as parts and mods for an AR variant, just cheaper.

I think my next purchase is gonna be a Gemtech or Tactical Innovations suppressor for it....:077:

Here is a stock photo of what it is. Got it at dicks under $200 out the door, and they had all ammo on sale, buy 1 get one 1/2 off. So I picked up a few thousand rounds for it.

I almost bought that same gun but ended up with a Rem 597 instead. The 10/22 felt too small in my hands and I didn't like the plastic trigger group. I just wish the 597s had the aftermarket support the 10/22s do, hopefully someday.

Mine shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards with CCI ammo, any other brands don't shoot nearly as well. If you haven't checked it out already, go to rimfirecentral.com.

I've been going through a lot of .22 ammo lately and let me recommend you guys use the Federal bulk ammo from Walmart (550 rounds per package). Any other ammo has given myself, and several other avid .22 shooters using 597s, 10/22s, and marlins trouble such as jams and failures to fire. Remington ammo is the worst.

I began using Federal Champions and it cycled well but its accuracy sucked. CCI makes their standard velocity ammo which is about the same price and shoots much better. Its quieter too.

CCI and Federal for the win, in my marlin the CCI mini mags group the best by far, with the Federal's in second place, In my larger caliber firearms both shotguns and rifles, I only feed them Federal and they like it alot.

I shot an expert AQT score at an Appleseed with the Federal ammo so it is plenty accurate for me.

Not debating that :) My marlin favors the cci's whereas my Winchester Model 70 only favors Federal Premium and or handloads with nosler bullets. Every rifle has a distinctly different appetite, my brother's new savage 114 likes the Winchester Supreme's in the 180gr ballistic silvertip flavor you gotta try a shit ton of brands out if you want to know what the best load is for your rifle, or spend sum time cookin sum handloads up if your super anal. Factory ammo in the last few years is really improved in leaps and bounds and I honestly argue whether it is worth someone's time to make a handload up unless it is with an odd ball bullet weight or design that has merit in a specific application that you are using it for. CCI and Federal all the way, Core Lokt's suck imho LOL

You're right on Jon, but I'm saying for the Remington 597 and Ruger 10/22 that were recently purchased, stick with the Federal Bulk Pack ammo.

From what I gather, every rimfire can be picky about ammo and they all differ on what works best. They all are a freaking blast to shoot though!
