John Browns down in rocherter, $250 with two mags. AIM has nearly the same for $219 (2 mag + holster) but it would be about the same price after the transfer($25-35). And like this ones safety better than the one on AIM, looks less clunky.

Our Christmas guns have arrived. While I was getting Diane her Russian SKS she was getting my K98k German Mauser. Just picked them up to day.:067:

Modified one with Tapco handgaurds and telescoping butt stock, slanted muzzle brake, rail side mount, Barska 42mm red dot sight, and an NcStar rail mount laser (not visible). Looking for a cheap vertical grip for the handgaurd next.

Nice purchases!

If you're looking for bulk ammo, as of my research a few days ago, gunbroker.com has the best price on 7.62x39 (non-corrosive, non-brass) and sportsmansguide had the best price on 8mm Mauser in spam cans (non corrosive).

Thanks Josh, I have the 7.63x39. Its the 8MM is what I am looking for.

I told Diane its time to look into getting another safe. I am out of room. Once I start getting the AR's built, I wont have anywhere to put them.

Well you can keep a few at my place :icon_madu:

You have to stick em in the walls, under the floorboards, in PVC in the back yard, ya know the usual places.

That would be good Gabe, because the dogs keep digging up the ones we already put in to the ground.:096:

A friend of mine went to a restaurant that was going out of business and bought their walk in cooler then re-assembled it in his basement. it is 8'x10'x7' tall took all the cooling stuff out added a dehumidifier. Not to mention it damn near fire proof, i think has less than $500 into it.

that would be killer for a vault. Even better to just have that bad boy and put siding on it etc. and throw it out beside our house, voila the deer cooler!!!

I was real excited about a trade I made with a friend before X-mas. I traded my Springfield 1911a1 that I bought when I was in the Army in 1987 new for 275 for a Israeli made Desert Eagle 44 magnum. He offered and I couldnt pass it up. I'll miss that gun but what a deal.

Gabe, there is a recall on the ones from AIM. Check to see if yours falls under this.

You did that with a Ppsh 41 drum? Wow. Nice idea.

Too bad you dont have the Ppsh to go with it!!!

I could do the same with a suomi 9mm drum if I had a 9mm.

Too bad you dont have the Ppsh to go with it!!!

I'm going to get a barrel blank for 7.62x25 and work on a little carbine to use PPSH41 mags.

Any feed problems with that setup? That is pretty impressive.

The Germans loved getting those ppsh 41's when they came across them. Awesome SMG.

Dont know yet I have to get another mag and weld it up. I'm thinking of putting in some dummy rounds to take up the space for the rounds that would be in the mag that wouldn't feed.

I was wondering how you'd take up the spring slack. That sounds like a good idea.
