I'm going to look at a set of rockwells and 53" michelins sunday. Tires are on dually military rims. One needs a tube. They're on CL. Guy sent me some pics (he could be a member on here for all I know), tires are in good shape. The ones with the squarish chunky tread. Guy wants 2 grand for the whole setup.

I'm not thrilled with the axles but would like to snag up the tires. What's the going rate for them? He said he doesn't want to separate them but 100 bills are good persuaders(sp).

I'm not thrilled with the axles because I can get a set already welded, blasted and painted, with new seals for $800.

Long story short, I just wanna know what a set of 53"s on crappy military rims are worth.

Thanks in advance for the help.

well the tires are stiff and you can basically run them flat and still get very little traction with them

anything military, this is generally the guy I go off of, he has the best prices around. Looks like those tires are ~250 a piece

I'm going to attack them with a tire groover. They'll have plenty of traction when I'm done with em

price you mentioned for the other set of axles is ridiculous cheap since they are prepped and ready. i would shy away from these and just see if you can find a set of tires. you might be able to find a set off 44 or 49 or 47's for the extra 1200 your gonna pay and not need the tire groovin.

I have 2 sets of 44" boggers already. One set is uncut and the other set is cut into paddle tires. Both on 8 lug wheels. I need to keep them on the wheels they're on for mud racing. I will be running stock then open class. Cut set is already screwed to the wheels. I'm building something "trail only". My mud racer is too pretty for the woods haha. I wouldn't have to worry too much about the sidewalls on the military tires and I'll be runnin tubes in them so beadlocks won't be needed.

he should he had like 15,000 tires when i bought mine he buys off the military all the tires he get are defects they might have a groove in the tread or a little dry rot but are in good shape

he rates them in classes
a 100% tread 100 bucks
b 70 to 80% 60
c class 50 to 70% 50
d under 50% 30 bucks

shipping is cheaper to a business address

The 800$ rockwells come with duece wheels and bald tires for rollers. I think I'll just buy those for now and wait on tires.
