Is that connecting rods too? Did they make a 4.2 with a serpentine belt? With it except my harmonic balancer? I heard that they are .60 over...?

Definately do sum research, there are a lot of different combos you can do. I think the most common is throw the 4.2L crank in it with the 4.0 rods and a .030 over piston. The crank out of the 258, there are two different ones if I remember right can't remember which one you want though I think one has a longer snout on it, or the balancing is different or sumthing can't remember. Check out NAXJA, there is alot of info on stroker builds over there and online period, just google it. Hope that helps get ya steering in the right direction.

Buy Corey's kit when he releases it, proven combo and power (read his build threads). Or come back here and bitch because your version didn't work after you spent $$$ on making it to the specs of most others. Seems to be the general result of stroked 4.0L's

That kit deal that fella is putting together sounds wonderful, my 4.0 has 170k miles on it, runs good, but its only a matter of time til she gets rebuilt and stroked, that kit seems very solid and a great price.

I would definately say go with the kit.. It's better then kicking yourself after the fact.

I'm not saying you couldn't piece it together on your own, in fact lots of guys do. I just haven't seen a stroker 4.0 that seems to stay together or run well for a long time. There always seems to be some excuse why; and for the money you'll drop into building one out of junkyard parts, you could do better when it comes to power and reliability.

Despite my better judgement I'm gonna try it. 4.7 actually. Wish me luck.
