So finally talked my buddy into buying a jeep.95 xj 5 speed. Worked on it for 2 weeks. Entire new floor and rockers and new fabbed up bumpers. Took it out the first time. Everything was working great then a knee deep puddle claimed its victim! Pludged into it and took on water. Ended up with 2 softball size holes. 1 in the block 1 in the pan! Horrible! Homeaid snorkel in the works! Anyone ever build one? Interested in one for my zj too!

Yeah thats a bit fast. Rausch Creek just had a post about that on their website. Saying to stick to the 10mph or face being booted for the day.

x5 after Dana. Hitting water or mud that fast just to watch it spash up is fun in a puddle on the highway. Off road, it is not only dangerous for your vehicle, but you run the risk of personal injury as well. Be safe out there and use it as a learning experience!

i made a home brew snorkel once for a beater tracker,i just used flexible air vent tubing from a samurai.just used a hose clamp straight to the throttle body ran it threw the inner fender and up the windshield frame and had an old k&n filter on top. i wish i had some pics of that thing no fenders we cut the back half off behind the doors(it was all rusted out) welded front & rear with 35's not alot of power but went almost any were!
