Well I just dropped off the old ladys WJ for inspection and found out it needs shocks. No biggie. I knew they needed replaced, but never got around to it.

Anyway I pricin shocks and Im lookin at around 200 bucks. Well I noticed a RC 2"BB for 250. Im thinkin what the hell might as well put a BB on it for an extea 50 bucks. Dont know if the wife will will be down with it, but oh well...

My question is is it just a spacer and shock install and walk away? Or will other issues arise? How does it ride? If had TJs and XJs, but never messed with a WJ. I just dont want to put it on and then have to mess with vibes, bumpsteer and all that other crap.

I ran a BB on my WJ originally but that didn't last too long and wanted to go higher. Yea, you just toss in the spacers and shocks and game over. If you have the prop shaft or the repezza shaft, you'll probably end up destroying the joint. They don't like to be over extended at all.

I'm talking about this kinda of shaft

If it has the CV joint at the tcase and the ujoint at the axle, no worries at all.

Yeah,I figured it wouldnt give me any problems. I just wanted to make sure from someone who had one. Ill just tell the wife that the new shocks made it sit higher. Shes stupid. She'll believe me :043:

shawn... you doing the BB yourself? if so let me know.. i would give ya a hand.. i wanted to do the same with mine. i know mine needs shocks and well i thought the same way.. might as well lift it too. hahah

figure if you run into a shit ton of problems...then i would pass on the BB. BUT from what i been reading on JF it's not a hard job and the results are good. nice ride and a little more ground clearance.

what shocks you going to go with? for me... i want shocks that are just as nice as the stock when it comes to the ride. i hardly ever make it offroad and when i do it's simple trails/ roads that lead me to hiking spots/ hunting spots. i DO NOT want this WJ to ride like the XJ!

x2 no issues other than destroying that front DS pictured. I ran 265/70R16 with slight trimming.

Once you go above 2", you run into all sorts of ways to spend money.

I've got the BB and U/C springs on mine, easy install and no issues at all for a couple years now (except that I want to go taller :) )

Yeah, mine has the U/C suspension too. Shoulda mentioned that. That was my concern. Already being a little taller than stock... I have 265/70/16s on it now and they dont rub. I think with another 2"s itll look just right.

And Matt, as far as shocks go Im just gonna go with the cheap ass ones the kit comes with. What the hell, I dont drive it :fu: Besides there isnt a vehicle on the planet that rides rougher than my XJ! Everythings got a nice ride to me!

And if you wanna come help thats just fine with me. Shouldnt take more than a few hours. Ive put them on TJs before and thier pretty easy. Ill buy the beer.

I had a 2" BB on my '99 WJ, ran some 31" General AT's on it. Made it look a lot better than stock, that's for sure. If I remember right, I just picked up 2" spacers on eBay for like $80....

LOL your TJ does ride like a brick shithouse on a blocked suspension haha, My XJ isn't that bad... then again it could be the ginormous crash box I carry in the back with tools and spare fluids hehehe

Its in the 4WD showroom. You have to go there. They wont ship anything. Its kind of an as is thing. Ive grabbed a good bit of stuff out of there when i go. Too bad Im not heading up that way :085:

the yj is worse.

I had a '95 YJ with a 3.5" Superlift kit and el cheepo shocks, man that thing was brutal. My TJ felt like a Cadillac when I first bought it
