Looking for a used full size pickup, prefer Ford F150/250 or Chevy 1500/2500. Need an extended cab or crew cab for the kids or gear, bed size doesn't matter, short is fine. 4x4 preferred, but not a dealbreaker.

Looking to spend $6k-$13k.

If anyone knows anyone that is selling one, let me know!
Thanks,
JB

Unless you are hauling ALOT of heavy stuff...don't buy a 3/4 ton. Registration is $120 more a year, and your gas mileage will suck. I learned real quick.

I appreciate it, but I need to tow a few things. Smallest is a motorcycle trailer that holds 3 bikes, gear and tools. Biggest is a small rv/toy hauler. I won't drive it often, just when I need the utility. I have a company car that I'm allowed to use as a personal vehicle.

Good luck findin the rite truck for ya!

I bought a 97 F150 and had the leafs upgraded to 1 tons for $200 and saved on them high registration cost every year. So ya can keep that in mind while your lookin. Since I have traded her in and betcha the new owner don't even no she's a 1 ton now

Swapping in leaf springs makes a 150 a 1 ton? Wow, guess I don't have to worry about the bigger axles, transfersace, cooling systems etc.

97 was the first year of the new body style. They had torsion bars up front. 97 one tons had the leave spring style. How was this done for that price?

Had the t-bars cranked up all the way and backed off 1/2 turn and realinement dun.... and Keslers in youngwood redid my leafs, not add a leafs either they rebuilt the stock ones, that made em 1 tons. The truck hauled good after that , hauled a many full size vechicals on my trailer and loaded the bed down with skids many times too... I still miss that truck :smirk: until I get in my new one.

Keslers also rebuilt my leafs on my rig too... they do great work for a fair price.

What did you do about the 1/2 ton brakes?

you still had 1/2 ton axles, it just didn't squat when you overloaded it.

Brandon, you can lock this up to avoid drama if you want. I found what I was looking for.
