i have been wanting to do twin sticks on my d300 for a while, but have neglected doing so since with the driveline i have, the shifters would be under the seat. the current setup i had was unreachable while strapped into my 5 point harnesses too... so, i ordered some 50# push pull throttle cables from mcmaster carr, along with rod ends, and made a setup similar to the atlas cable shifters.

I piggybacked them off of my lokar shifter bracket and all i need to do now is make a set of shift levers. i placed them so that i can easily reach them when i am strapped in tight in the 5 point harnesses. a local machinist http://www.hrja.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif is making the ends to tie into the d300 shift forks on the other end of the cables. once i have those ill make the bracket off of the transfer case.

Everything sounds good, pictures are a little confusing (maybe it's just me). Do you think a 50# push cable will be strong enough? Push and pull the shift rail in the TC by hand and see how easy it is, sometimes they can be a bit tight.

the rear bracket is running across the back of the transmission where the transfer case adapter bolts on. the chrome stick coming off the base is my gearshifter. so the twin sticks will come up right in front of where the center console would be, and bolt onto the two studs sticking out. theres the gas pedal in one of the pics for reference. 50# should be plenty, i know some are sticky, but i can shift mine by hand.

Looks good Justin, good idea to use your existing shifter base to mount the cables off of like you did, thats damn crafty, can't wait to see how these turnout. :)

heres the shifter side... i was gonna do beer tap handles for the shifters, but i just made a set out of steel. i welded in some roller bearings on the shifters so they work smooth.

And way better than the 345 AA wants. I have been thinking the same, I do not like where the Curie Ent kit puts them.

in all honesty, the transfer case side is a bitch to make fit. its cool, but i dont know if it would be worth it again. its nice having the shifters right at hand with no reach. the 8ball shift knob is too heavy though and throws it into neutral when i hit a hard bump so i had to put a lighter knob on it.
