It comes with a leg purse.

Muzikman
03-12-2010, 06:05 PM
No, I come with a leg purse...

The Jeep is just a Jeep.

Steering needs replaced, the suspension needs work (new joints) and the clutch is dying.

Harley25
03-12-2010, 06:12 PM
Why are you admitting to frequently using the leg purse?

I hope you wear it with a kilt at the parade tomorrow! Good place to hide your booze.

I just talked to the church, this is a definite go for us. This is the LAST YEAR that dirt hill / muddy area will be there. They're going to flatten it and so something else with it, I think a field maybe.

So the quote was "Put your twisted little mind on how to go out with a bang" - any suggestions?

Deadman 94 xj
03-30-2010, 02:30 PM
More than one car crush? Truck crush? You jump the buggy (more than last time lol)?

OverkillZJ
03-30-2010, 02:32 PM
The buggy is still put together, just needs a battery. The front driveshaft yoke is still welded together from blowing it up 2 years ago. I can't believe it hasn't snapped yet, there's no grease in there.

I wouldn't jump it on purpose, but you know, it could happen... Again.

beat1078
03-30-2010, 02:36 PM
Mud hole?
Will they let us take a backhoe in there and dig it up a bit?

OverkillZJ
03-30-2010, 02:40 PM
Maybe... but front what I understand the final plans for whatever they're doing with the area are laid out now, a mud hole might change those plans so I'd lean towards no. Can't hurt to ask, though.

It would be nice if we had a couple cars to drive over like the monster truck show. I know it’s a huge hassle but is there any chance of dumping a few rocks down there to make a rock garden?

I like this idea, but I agree it may be too much work to be worth it. What about some logs? They might be easier to get/move. Think caber toss.

My have a car to donate, I will check today. May suggest that this year we remove the glass prior to smashing.

ridgerunner97
03-31-2010, 09:03 AM
I might be able to pull off a log pile, as long as I get the logs back LMAO. What size logs we thinkin here, I don't even know how to go about figuring out what would be a challenge, Foot in diameter? more/less? Just make a pile out of em? I will need sum help loading them, possibly even transporting, with a trailer if my buddy doesn't have his dump trailer titled by then or is busy that day. Anyone with a trailer that would be interested in actually doing a log pile, PM me if your interested just in case I can't work out transport. I'll definately need somebody with a winch and snatch block to help me load the trailer.

As long as we haul out anything we take in, we can probably do it.

ridgerunner97
03-31-2010, 09:44 AM
DAMN IT!!! Sat. 5th is my little brother's Graduation party, could we haul those logs in on Friday night, and haul em out on Sunday morning? I'd love to help out by gettin logs for you guys but I won't be able to help on Sat. at all. I'm gettin ready to ride up and see if my source is still clearing land or not haven't been up to talk to them for a while yet. I'll let ya'll know what I find out on my break this afternoon.

BAD_GNR
03-31-2010, 09:58 AM
Well if you guys like the log idea, I have my military trailer. Not sure how well it would handle logs, but could try. It's a 4'x6' box, but assuming I can just put them on top and then chain the hell out of them, must be what the 30 gazillion loop hooks are for on the sides. If we do that, I could probably just cut some from my friend's tree farm, would just appreciate a hand or two going up the weekend before or something to cut them down and haul.

OverkillZJ
03-31-2010, 10:57 AM
That sounds like a lot of time / work for a few logs. Unless it was something significant (all or nothin ?) I don't even have a trailer to bring a car in on any more.

Deadman 94 xj
03-31-2010, 11:08 AM
I like the log idea but agree that it's a lot of work. Too much work IMO. Last yr I think they drove the car there and trailered it out.

IMO it doesn't have to be crazy but having something other than the mud pit would be nice. Even if Dave (or somebody else) could get just one car.

Did he ever build that RTI ramp?

OverkillZJ
03-31-2010, 11:22 AM
Tom - DMG and I trailered the car in from his shop, and he had a friend with a wrecking service get it out later.

We never got around to an RTI ramp, no way we're going to by then, either, to be honest. Too much going on.

DMG
03-31-2010, 11:47 AM
I am not going to have time for the RTI ramp soon. We are busy as hell at the shop. lately.
I am looking for cars to crush and have a truck and trailer to move them (and Matts buggy) around but I don't really want to go far for logs. Especially since that will be right after our Ohiopyle camping/4wheeling trip.

Deadman 94 xj
03-31-2010, 11:49 AM

I hear ya.

If we can't bring anything in, maybe they'd let us dig up that hill a little to put on more of a show? I'm sure something will come up. I'm willing to lend a hand either way. Even if you guys want to do the logs.

BAD_GNR
03-31-2010, 12:47 PM
I'm not saying we should do the logs either, I think it would be cool, but a lot of work. I'm just throwing it out there as an option if we want to add something again this year. Any events like what they have at Charapp or jeep jamboree, like the obstacle course (log & rock idea), or the jeep polow - with soccer balls & brooms. I always thought the balancing blocks were pretty cool for that matter.

The problem is setup and tear down time. We would need a dedicated couple of people to spend a couple days each way to make it happen. It would be great no doubt but to pull it off takes people. Who can make the commitment both ways to set up and tear down?

If this is something we want to do start there. A list of definate names and see who you have and then plan for the obstacle or course. Thats how I would do it.

Deadman 94 xj
03-31-2010, 01:16 PM
No, seriously, drag races in the mud.

There's enough room for a short track. The crowd would love it, I think it would be a blast, and there's the pontential for carnage. What could be more fun than that? lol

We could do two wide and take turns. Matt's buggy would probably win but we'd just give him a .5 second penalty.

and Dana could stand between the two rigs and wave the flag LOL.

I think some of the simple little events would work with little setup tear down time.

The balance blocks could be make in a couple hours (if that) and takes no setup time (just need pavement).

The jeep polo would just need a broom, soccer ball and something to act as a goal (and is played on dirt).

The barrel roll just requires an open paved area and a plastic barrel.

The slow crawl requires nothing but a start and finish line.

At lot of small events could be done in short order.

Like I sad - anything that goes in, needs to come out... As much as I'd like to do something big and crazy, when my names attached to it I get a bit nervous - I have so much going on the thought of getting in a situation where we dump a bunch of stuff and can't get it removed, or dig a huge hole and need it filled in, it sounds a bit stressful.

I'm all about the cars. Easy to get in and out compared to building something / having things dumped in. RTI ramp would be nice if anyone has access to one, but ramping up on the car is fun too.

Here's some inspiration:

So I maybe able to get a few cars but getting them there would be the issue. Mud drag would be easy to set up but would be a pain to get rid of. Does anyone know of a group we could borrow an RTI ramp off of?
I think I may be in for this If I can get my junk together by than.
