I'm trying to put an electric fan on my yota. I'll probably just measure and use whatever fits but I wanted to see if anyone has an idea if there's a specific fan that works best? I think I remember hearing something about Taurus fans moving a lot of air but I can't remember if its something that fits on a yota.

It should fit and that is the fan of choice.

Try to do some sort of tangible before and after comparison, to see the benefits. I am looking into an electric fan as well. A mercury villagers/Nissan quest fan shroud works well to. If you do it make a write up on the wiring. When I get around to doing mine I will post the relays and part numbers that I used.

I got one from a 94ish 3.8l Taurus for my Pathfinder. I rememeber reading somewhere they were the choice ones for the swap on them and read somewhere they were one of the choices for Toyotas as well since I have it in my head to do it to the 4runner eventually as well.

I just wanna do it because the idea of a fan clutch failing and overheating my motor never sat well with me. I'll do a write up on it because I didn't even find one on pirate in the faq.

A flexalite black magic with the built in controller is the best choice.

i bought one from autozone not too long ago for my 4runner. just had plastic straps that clipped it to the back of the radiator, a little controller box to adjust when it came on, and a little thermocouple type sensor that sat inside of the rad hose. It worked pretty well for me, I cant remember the exact price of it, but i think it was maybe around 70 or 80 bucks for the kit?

I'll probably go to the junkyard this weekend for a Taurus fan and order the temp sensor from summit, I'm trying to do it on the cheap. The Flex-a-lite one looks nice but I'd rather not drop that kinda money on it.

Also does anyone know what temperature a 22re thermostat opens at? I'm thinking 180 but not sure..

Are people running dual fans? Will they fit?
