Well, it's not mine yet, but this is the one that I am buying. It belongs to my future father in law, so I know it's history pretty well. Interior is immaculate. Needs some rust fixed and a bashed in lower quarter from someone hitting the bumper corner.

It's a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 auto with 126k. Seems to be fully loaded and bone stock with the exception of a set of Mickey Thompson wheels. I'm getting it for $3500.

What do you think? Good deal? I really have nothing to tow with it yet, but I am going to need another reliable vehicle in the near future for some not-so-frequent use. Also, I plan to buy a boat within the next year or so as well.

It looks good. You did good for 3500 bucks :) The 5.2L isn't a real powerhouse but they run good and are as reliable as gravity. Keep your eyes open for rust starting to rear its ugly head in the bottom of the doors and the wheel arches front and rear, take care of it before it gets out of hand because those trucks rot like they are goin out of style in those areas, trust me I know, as does Ragnorox LOL

Older dodges aren't my first choice, but for the price, I'm not going to pass it up. It is already rusting in those areas, but it is fixable as it is still in it's earlier stages.

not a bad deal. looks like it could use some tires. but thats about it and im a fan of the old dodges. good score

Yeah, tires will be on the list. They are wearing out, but can wait a bit still. I'll probably go with Firestone Destination A/T's or Cooper ST's.

Getting new tires on it on thursday. Cooper S/T's in the 305/70/16 flavor. Getting each tire new for $139. I wanted 285's, but this deal is too hard to pass up!

I put new front pads, rotors, and a rt. caliper on it saturday. I'll be looking at the rear brakes and doing a tune up this week as well. Once all of the mechanical stuff is done, I'll be doing some body work before the salt kills the bed, doors, and front fenders.
