I like the idea of the movie, but it still was a really dumb movie. I understand the irony of that comment because it WAS supposed to be really dumb to drive the point home of the current direction of society.

That said, someone posted a YouTube video of a Japanese game show where the contestents (from what I gathered, because I don't speak any Japanese) had to recite something in a really short amount of time. If they didn't, a spring loaded arm swung up and hit them in the balls. I couldn't help but to think of "Ow! My balls!" -- the #1 TV show in that movie...

I thought it was stupid the first time - but it's kinda like Monty Python in the way that you can watch it a couple more times (HBO was playing it ALOT one month) and you keep picking up stuff you missed that makes it funnier AND make more sense.

Very true. I think I've seen it about 4 times now (at least Comedy Central's edited version). Honestly, the "rehabilitation" part of the movie is where I think it went really downhill. Again, I do want to reiterate that it was probably his intent to make that part that stupid, though, so I can't complain. There are a lot of subtle points that I do pick up each time I watch it, so one could argue that the movie is a lot deeper at it's core than perhaps it's portrayed.

That is why I think it's an actual great movie, not just a stupid comedy.
