I recently acquired some steel from work to build roof rack for my cherokee. (thank you yamaha for using steel crates) Will post pictures when i start the build tomorrow. Any advice?

More attachment points at the rain gutters the better! Other than that, let your imagination run wild.

Build a full length basket up there and run tube alongside the gutters to keep trees from denting the body when you tip into one.

I went with a similar design but i'm attaching it to the factory rails. and dam...that was kinda the purpose of the thing...oh well it'll carry the tool box and coolers and other miscelanious items i decide will fit. i'll post the pictures when its all finished instead of separately due to laziness. next idea...Winch carrier build..similar to the xj "backbone" from detours

I run the backbone system and it's a great setup. I was able to winch the jeep straight up off the ground with it. Brace it along the framerails as far back as you can and it'll be strong.
