How long of a hike are you thinking about, time and distance? Difficulty? I've been hitting the gym too lol!

As of now I would shoot for May. The weather will be nice enough.

i was thinking of starting at ohio pyle SP. the 1st day would be a hard 6 to 7 miles to camp 1. after that easy to moderate. distance for me is not a big deal. 20 ... 40 ... what ever. i will have plenty of time off to do as many miles or days as i with .... so i guess it will depend on those going with me.

weather should be nice at day and chilly at night up on the summit. i would guess 60s at day and 45-50s at night. if ya never been there they have 3 sided leantoo type of shelters with a large chimney fire place blocking the open front. depending on the weather just prior to going i will decied on the shelter ... or my pack tent.

Why wait so long? This might be the best time of year to get use out of those shelters.

i have always been tossing this idea around. i planned on hiking from ohio pyle to rt 30. but cutting the first mile or so off from ohio pyle by jumping on the trail after the HUGE climb out.

ill let you know as time goes on if im up for it!

dont forget the turnpike foot bridge is out soo there isn't a easy way across the pike.

Its approx. a 7 or 8 mile detour on the LHHT to cross the pike now. Its posted on the DCNR's website what the official detour route is. You cross the pike now on the bridge that carries the Bakersville-Edie Rd. over the pike if I remember correctly.

well ... work has been busy for me ... usually i have a month off ... but i will only get 14 days this time. .... the next month i will be able to go would be july inless its a week day thing or just a day trip.

i moved to the country because i like the slow paced life ... but son of a b*t#h (B@t#h) if i dont feel busy and rushed every day ! seems like i never have time or the money to do any thing, this sucks ! lol
