I nabbed the one on craigslist. picking it up tomorrow. not bad for 250 bucks. no shafts but the locker is there. it needs some work on the track bar bracket but no big deal.

it was in a jeep that was hit. it bent a shaft and the track bar mount... bent shafts are pretty common in 4 doors just from wheelin em. i'm pretty sure the axle housing will be ok. if it was a front i'd be worried lol. i'm taking a straight edge to make sure it's good. he has the shaft so i can confirm that it slides in and doesn't hit anywhere. it just bent the flange.

insurance co wouldn't let them repair that axle, they replaced it. so he has it just sitting there... i should be able to get what i have into the rubi axle out of kim's geared rear 44.

I hope the tubes are straight. I have seen one that the outer C was bent and it kept the locker from disengaging. That was a front axel obviously. Still doesnt sound like a bad deal, You can always stick a detroit or lockrite it if it gives you problems.

ya that's why i'm taking the straight edge with me... unless you have a tip for making sure it's straight... it really doesn't look bad to me... we'll see when i get there tomorrow

I don't know of any tricks to tell if it is in fact bent. Im sure there is a way though. Maybe measure from backing plate to backing plate front and rear like you would measure toe.

oh ya, that makes sense. i'll run the straight edge down it and then do that to see if the mounting plate is straight...

Thanks man,

Ryan

Awesome lol. The bracket was barely tweaked. I nabbed it. There was 8 people in line, I just called first!
