In conjunction with supporting memberships, I'll be installing a mobile add-on to this site, that will allow you do use mobile browsing on your phones through an app similar to face book. Supporting members will even be able to upload pictures directly to threads from their phones. Just teasing for now...

All I see here is more ways to slack at work on my phone. That being said, please let me know when it's all up and running!

What it's worth, other forums I go on that have smartphone apps they can run off of really don't make a lot of difference when I run off the app or from safari (iphone). I proably aint using it right though. Not that I wouldn't use the app anyway, I AM a dork

I am always frustrated when browsing forums on my Droid -- whether I use TapaTalk or a browser. I think it's because I'm so used to just opening each thread I want to look at in a separate tab so I don't need to keep hitting the back button. However, I haven't found a mobile browser yet that elegantly handles tabs or multiple browser windows (I know some browsers support that, but the interface just isn't convenient enough to use, IMO). I might just not be using the right browser (or just not know the browser well enough), though...

That's one reason I haven't gone the tapaltalk route, I've been waiting for this product written by vbulletin, it should be better, but we'll see when I get it installed.

Where do I send my money, wife or first born child to become a supporting member?

Nowhere just yet, I"ve laid the ground work, but have been waiting for a slow week to finish it up. It's been nice out, so when I'm done for the day, I avoid technology. With it raining for awhile coming up, you'll see an announcement soon....

I am not up to VB4 yet, so I have not looked into their mobile app, however, avoid Tapatalk or Forum Runner until they give the admin the ability to remove their signature. It's super annoying! :)

I see that the last post in this thread was last year, but did anything ever come of this idea? Any android app or tapatalk support planned in the near future?

Wrong as usual Dana! It doesn't go to the mall anymore, busted a leaf spring and shock mount curb climbing. Thought I could make it over the "expectant mothers only parking" sign but didn't have enough clearance and wasn't generous enough with the throttle. Was stuck waiting at the mall food court for hours until someone arrived to winch the Xterra off the sign. Never go mall crawling alone guys. It's dangerous.

What are you driving these days Matt?

by "soon" I meant about a year. The Android app has had some serious issues on other sites that I'm waiting to get worked out, I will install TapalTalk on the next rendition of this site, most likely in 6 weeks now that we're on the new server.

Yes... and.. remember "cell phone coverage" maps? That was nice- you could be in touch in the metro area and completely out of touch and unreachable on the way home and on the weekends. The perfect technology. Now a days people expect you to be available 24/7/365.

I routinely turn my phone off at home, when wheeling, and certainly when on vacation and yet get shit for it from work and others. I was in Alaska for 5 weeks... when I returned I found people pissed that I didn't have my phone on me. Ummm I was in ALASKA dog sledding on glaciers.. do you think A) I wanted to thinkg about a mobile phone B) Even think there would coverage in the YUKON?
