WizardSpeed is an Internet based company and was recently founded in Nov 2010 by a few ambitious individuals. My name is Chris Winslow, I have been a member on this forum since 2009, so I'm a geek that likes to play in the rocks as well. I'm currently working on this project with a few other folks on a new endeavor selling tech goodies, mainly Android Tablets.

Take a look at what we have to offer...

WizardSpeed (http://www.wizardspeed.com/)is a new up and coming supplier of electronic goodies. We are a Hong Kong based company with a sales force in the US with direct ties to the manufactures of our products. We deal directly with the manufacture so that there is not middle man to bump the cost up. Yes these products are made in China and we are in China a few times a month meeting with the manufactures.

We have tested all of our products listed so that We know You are getting a quality product. We know there are hundreds of Android tablets on the market for cheaper than ours but how do you know they are any good. We know which are good and which are junk, we have the 2.1's 2.2's and soon to have 2.3's at a fraction of the cost of the big names, Xoom and Galaxy. We have tested and used all of our products and have tested many others that we will not offer.

Come check us out at http://www.wizardspeed.com/

Keep an eye on our site we're adding new products...

Here's a little peak at what we're offering...

Z5 7" Android 2.1 $198.99

If your creative enough you can build an App for that.

No bluetooth support? I was looking into this as my next CarPC project, but without bluetooth it makes it pretty useless for many of the things I would want it to do.

To be honest were working on having BlueTooth on a model soon. We have had them but they were clunky so we're not offering them as of yet. Keep an eye on us and well have them soon. Were also working on a model that will have dual sim cards this may have BT I have not had the final specks on this model yet.

No we don't have any 3.0's yet...just 2.2 and 2.3's. 3.0 is not really hitting the market yet there are only a few out there as of now, Motorola ASUS and Acer are the ones with the 3.0's. The 2.2 and 2.3 are very stable and I'd stay there for now.

How locked down are they? Can they easily be rooted? In particular, do they use a signed bootloader that would enable me to re-flash the memory?

Yes, I understand that as a salesman for the company, you will not recommend any end user doing such a thing. Yes, I understand that doing stuff like that would probably void the warranty. I'm just looking for honest feedback in regards to how "developer friendly" these tablets are provided that the end user knows what they are doing.

To be complete honest, I have had to flash the ROM on a unit we were testing and decided not to sell due to it being buggy. Now this ROM was provided for me but the update was easy enough to do. I will also state that if an end user flashing the ROM on these without instruction from us and getting the proper ROM for an update does in fact void the warranty. I have bricked a device using a bad ROM, my computer would not recognize it and would not power up, it was done. I have also had success in flashing these, some by MicroSD card some via usb.

The Z13 supports SIM Cards!!! Yes it will make calls on GSM networks! I tested with a $10.00 "Go Phone" from AT&T that I picked up at Radio Shack and it worked great...Pay as you go plans no need for service contracts...
