I was at a gun shop recently that had a few of these, they are a 1911 clone but in .22 caliber. All functions, including slide lock at empty, are identical to a 1911. Same weight and size as well, and seems to be very well made. They have been getting great reviews as to quality, but I was wondering if anyone here had first hand experience with the brand? I'd like a true 45acp, but this would be a ton cheaper to shoot

How much? Seems pretty interesting.

No help though.

Like most of the 22s on the market, it is a Umarex. Not bad, not great. Colt came out with one of their own recently... also made by Umarex. Its a decent alternative to a 22 conversion.

i read somewhere today that these were being made in the sig factory and getting a GSG brand. they share a zinc slide material with the other brands, but they are different than the chiappa (horrible reviews) and colt/umarex/walther.

prices i am finding are 330-340ish

That makes it a bit worse if they are just the mosquitoes with a different exterior. I'd love me a sig or 2.. but nothing made in the last 5 years.

Buy a real 1911......and get a .22 conversion. Then you have both??

80% of the parts interchange with a 1911, so i would be a bit surprised if it was just a different fascia mosquito... and a lot of the problems that gave the mosquito a bad rap are from the early production and light ammo.

They look cool but I'm in the market for a ruger 22/45 LITE with the threaded barrel. Can't begat ruger reliability in a 22 pistol IMO. The mark 3 pistols are great

I'll agree, my buddy has a mark 3 and my dad has a smith 22A that we use to play with constantly. Both are an absolute blast to shoot and are wicked accurate. You can't beat the price of the gun and ammo either.
