Anybody hearing any feed back about these? I was told by a gun dealer the Windham worked for Bushmaster. Bushmaster was bought out by Remington. Windham was in favor of higher quality. Remington decided to take the company in a different direction and make Bushmaster AR-15s a little cheaper. So Windham was let go by Remington/Bushmaster. He then decided to start his own company and make a superior rifle even at a better price. Again, this is what I was told, I have not researched this much yet. The Windhams seem to be pretty nice though.

I was told by the local gun dealer that the lowers for most of the brands are cast by the same manufacturer then stamped with the individual makers name, all lowers had a keyhole shaped makers mark. I was looking at smith m&p, dpms, colt and bushmaster, and all had the same identifying mark on the lower. You really get into the money and quality differences in the AR style rifle with trigger groups, bolts, and furniture. The rest is pretty standard, simple and straight forward. There was a site i was at recently that sold all the individual parts, you could build an AR for right around $500. That said, if i would have bought one i would have probably gotten a dpms and then started upgrading. If you buy an expensive one off the bat, you still ought to upgrade to an m16 full auto bolt. So since its wise to upgrade certain parts in any of the ones you would buy off the shelf, it makes most sense to buy cheap and upgrade IMHO.

I know Bushmaster only warranties for a year. Del-Ton is a lifetime warranty with Mil-Spec and about same price as Bushmaster

Remington bought Bushmaster and decided to move the facility which was in Windham Maine. Some of the employees and engineers of Bushmaster did not want to move and decided to stay and buy the old Bushmaster facility. Hence the name Windham Weaponry. The guns definitely have a much better fit and finish than a Bushmaster. I have not shot mine yet but I have read reviews and they are all good as far as I researched. Hope this helps you out.
