Looking at replacing my current hoopty and I got a call about this deal.
1986 Chrylser Lebaron 2.2 I believe it is Turbo. 57,000 original miles, recently new struts, all new belts, new hoses, and all required maintenance. Guy says he has a book of maintenance records. Garage kept, no or very little rust.
500 bucks.

I never owned a mopar, and know nothing about K cars other than being hideously ugly. Anything to look for ? Any known issues with the 2.2 or automatic transmission ?

Find out for sure if its the turbo or NA 2.2L. The Turbo motor is damn near bulletproof and has a decent power/mpg ratio for a boosted motor. If its the NA 2.2L its a turd, I wouldnt bother if you have to drive in a hilly area.

Not sure on the transmission as there were (2) different auto's available for that year.

If its the turbo 2.2L and you decide to pass on it, let me know.

My first car was an 87 leBaron with the 2.2 and the digital spedometer
I beat the piss out of that car and never had any problems with it.
the 2.2 was a dog you could feel the HP loss when you turned on the A/C but for $500 i would buy it as a spare car so I didn't put the miles on my sequioa.

If you don't buy let me know also. My step son is turning 16 in a few mo.s and this would be a good first car, CHEAP !!!

Well, as always things get lost in translation lol. Its a Plymouth Reliant 2.2 non turbo. Car is cleaned super well kept. No rust, needs a front wheel. Pretty bare bones, no options tho the AC still works. Only 55,000 miles. I am on the fence going to sleep on it for a bit. I will let you know if I pass, the gas mileage doesn't seem to be as good as I hoped. Lol, being picky for a 500 dollar car I know.

I've almost paid that much for shooting targets.

Speaking of which, can we shoot the saturn now?

No, well maybe.... Going to try and sell it first. If I can get 400 dollars for it, I would of drove a car for 2 years, putting over 41,000 miles on it for free. Best deal of my life, so we shall see lol.
