Well, we took the trip up to Detroit for the 2005 Auto Show. I must say the Jeep display was quite impressive. They went all out, it was top notch! Even all the little details were covered.

I got quite a few pics of the Jeep concepts on hand. The Hurricane pics are coming within the next day or two. I have the Gladiator pics uploaded to Photobucket already.

And here they are...

The truck is quite nice. I can really see a lot of it making it into a production vehicle. I just hope they ditch the side-mounted tire set up.

The suspension was very similar to the TJ (and LJ.) The video they show on the flat screen at the display makes one think that this thing would be a capable offroader too...

quite awesome,
i new pickup-style jeep has been long overdue
and i think i like the side mounted spare, although it doesn't seem to fit in as well as they do on the old cj's

Hey, uh, Bill... We can't upload pics here (brandon and i are still dialed up from phone in detroit) - but the Gladiator had a kinda long arm suspension sytem, i wouldn't say it's anything like standard TJ / LJ LA :)

Many many pics will be up in a few days once brandon and I get our crap together.

Is that a new tread pattern for the MT/R? Looks a lil different.
Oh yeah, I like the side mounted tire. The Jeep has a kind of retro look to it and I think the tire mounted there goes along w/ the rest of the Jeep.

That's not a "real" MTR. I'm sure it was a custom cut that they did.

I like the attention to detail with all the crap hanging off the bottom. What is that, tape? and a hose?

I guess it's a REAL preview!

OK, I'll give you that one. What about the wire ties and tape?

Did anyone else notice the dual rate coil overs? I bet that thing rides fairly well while still being able to haul a decent amount.. About the only thing that I see that it shares in common with the TJ suspension is the fact that it has control arms.

Ya, I noticed that too ;)

Well it does have tires on it too... That's in common with a TJ. Hell LI think it even had axles!
