I have a 1997 Ram 2500 with a 360 and auto trans. yesterday while plowing snow my transfer case went out on me. I need to know if anybody knows what years transfer cases are compatible with mine.

Any that are driver drop and 6 bolt round mounting flange technically with correct input spline count. Direct bolt in, anything from behind a V8 Auto Dodge from 94-01 should be correct. Used a few different cases in that run but mostly NP231D's ("231HD") and NP241's in the 2500-3500's Chevy NP Cases are different in certain applications and I don't know the one's that would work or wouldn't work. If you want to get fancy, any 6 bolt round pattern case with drivers drop will bolt up with the correct input spline count and you making a shifter work and rear driveshaft. I.E. Ford NP205/203 , Dodge 205/203,208,231,241,blah blah blah Jeep Dana 300...hrrrm likely many more...

The transfer case that is in it now is the NP241DLD. I'm not sure what the spline count is. I have not pulled the case off yet. The truck is still sitting in the parking lot where it broke down. I had a friend tow me into a parking spot so it would be out of he way.
