I am having some real bad noises from the center section of my drive train. I thought it was a bad bearing in the transmission and put some lucas transmission fix in it but the problem still happens. Basically there is a real loud whirring noise that happens spontaneously usually occurs in 3rd gear from 25-40 mph and it wont stop until you come to a complete stop. Also the clutch burns up real bad in third gear when you get on it. Also there is a clicking noise when you are starting out moving and goes away when up to speed. I am thinking that it could be a bad throwout bearing or pilot bearing. So I think that I will replace the entire clutch assembly(pressure plate, throwout/pilot bearing, clutch disk) and maybe have the flywheel resurfaced. If anyone has any insight on it and could recommend a clutch package that wont break the bank, its much appreciated.
