Anyone ever remove the whole driveline in one piece out of a xj. Engine trans and tcase? Because of the cold I really don't feel like trying to separate everything, which is what I would normally do. I've got a 242 case which is slightly larger than the 231.

also, I'll have the front clip removed. All that's left on the front right now is the core support and the radiator.

I'm not 100% positive as its been a few years, but I think I did my engine swap all at once. I might have done the tcase separate, but I know I did the motor and trans together and I did not pull the entire front clip and it worked.

I have, drop the Trans Cross member. If I remember correctly I removed the front clip, to make it a bit easier. Its been over 7 years though...

Ya, it's been awhile for me also. I normally take the trans with the motor, but I've never tried with the tcase.

Probally makeing it harder than it needs to be....

hahaha i did one day...cut the motor mounts out with a torch, and cut the front out of the jeep, hook a jeep to the rear of the xj, and pull it away from the engine trans and t case...it works good. neighbors thought we were nuts though!
