Hi guys I didn't know where to put this so I figure here is fine. I have a 99 silverado but this post is actually for my M3.

I have a removable carrier and a ring and pinion I need installed! Anyone know of a good shop that's reasonable 200-300 if I bring everything in out of the car?

This is also good info and I will most likely go 4.10 in my silverado eventually as well when I up my tire size.

Paging DMG.

Won't guarantee a price (that's HIS prerogative!), but I'll GUARANTEE it done RIGHT. He did my Ramcharger, and yes - I brought in all the parts, too.

DMG is the OWNER of a shop - Gibbs Automotive in Mt. Lebanon. Just a few miles from the South Side, and the best 4x4 shop in the city. :gear_cool2:

He should be in here again later tonight, or early tomorrow morning - he'll touch base as soon as he sees your thread. :023:

There's also Greensburg Machine and Driveline, in Greensburg obviously. They do excellent work and are really nice, helpful people.

Greensburg said they won't touch a BMW diff. I don't understand why though they're set up the same as any differential. Ill see what else is said. Valley in NV said 390 so that's my best bet as I'm right here and B&M in Verona said 350-450 as well.

I can see why some shops won't do it. They might not have any experience on that model/style (especially if it's an electronic diff, though that's usually inside the carrier) , might not have the special tools (if any are needed), might not have easy access to any parts that are needed and not supplied, etc. At least they told you upfront that they won't do it, where some shops might tell you they can, then realize they can't or they mess something up.

Yea I didn't think about all that. I'm fairly sure there aren't any special tools required, but from an enthusiast to a shop. I know a lot about a little and they know a lot about a lot haha. I think I'm going to run it up to valley and let them set it up for me. He was confident in person, and seemed to really know his stuff. A couple bucks is worth it.
