I have an electric fuel pump on a CJ we did an injection conversion on. We may need to drop the tank on it to do some work. But, the tank is pretty much full.

Can i just run power to the fuel pump and have it pump the gas out of the tank? i figured i could pull the fuel line off the TBI and put it in a gas can...

is there an easier way to empty the tank?

I've done that easily more than 10 times. Unplug the fuel pump, some how connect to the wires in the plug directly to a car battery, and run the fuel line to a container. No big deal.

I've also dropped full tanks using a floor jack. Not impossible.

i was just hoping to get the fuel level down before i drop the tank. even if it's not all the way. because it's pretty much topped off right now.

Thanks man.

I usually just unplug the harness and run it off a battery charger, they don't pull a lot of power.
