LED lights are just so damn cheap! lol. the YJ will just keep getting more and more mall crawler... *sigh*

Ordered some LED tail lights. Some LED license plate lights, some LED reverse lights, some LED rock lights, a 52" light bar, a set of 4 LED driving lights (already have 2 on the bumper, 2 are going on the A pillars and 2 are going on my sister's jk). LED daytime running lights that i'm mounting on the roll bar for a dome light...

I already had an LED light bar on the winch fairlead... oh where oh where will it all end!?

they've just come down so much in price. it was 40 bucks for those 4 driving lights. the light bar was 100. the little led lights (which the reviews all say are way brighter than expected) are 8 bucks per 10 pack... i mean... come on! lol.

so ya... they'll look great at the mall... oh i did another 12voltguy custom switch panel to run the rest of them. here's the one i have now.

once i get that all in i need to clean up ALL the wiring. get it all cleaned up and into wiring loom. it's hard to hide it in the YJ, there's not a lot of space to do it. so i'll get that all wrapped up and i'll be ready to light the way... to the ice cream shop... which is the only place this rig goes anymore lol...

I have no idea when all this is going to get installed either. with having my youngest and possibly my oldest kid in the hospital... but it gives me stuff to do when i need an hour by myself away from analyzing medical bills and making life altering medical decisions.

so the list right now is:
new brakes (oh ya, i have a powerstop kit sitting here)
swap out the 2 piece CAD for the single piece shaft i have here
install CB/antenna
wire up fogs, driving, fairlead bar, 52" bar, rock lights, and reverse aux lighting.
install light bar and brackets
install windshield lights
install 12volt guy panel
install interior led lighting
install rock lights
finish diagnosing 35 mph wobble (hey my speedo works again! at least i got to fixing that!)
installing the tach i took off the steering column elsewhere.
mounting tweeters in a better spot than laying on top of the dash pad

lots of nice little things to work on. maybe most of this will be done by fall lol.

I get the temptation, or the need to work on something I really do. Just know that its going to look like a Christmas tree. LED lights don't look right on anything pre- 1999!!!

That said, post pics. lol

I will, i need to get some pics of it as it sits now. it's looking pretty sharp. for a mall crawler. My stress relief is going down and tinkering with the jeep. doing stupid little mods. Once in a while i'll take on a project. But for the most part right now i'm just sticking with these small kinda fun things that take my mind off of everything.

here's a blurry one from the other night:

and i need to clean up the wiring for the stereo... which is so overkill.. lol

Without decals or fogs

The second one down, the Kawell, I bought in 18w off Amazon. I made a bracket for reverse lights on my F150. They are incredible

I have a strong no led policy on the scrambler
Ryan's Yj..... it'll have enough for all of us

I think they're probably a lot like tattoos. Once you get one...

With LED technology these days, you'd be nuts to do anything but LED! You should see the LED stage lights I've been playing with. Maybe I'll attach one to a Jeep. Actually, I typed that as a joke, but a small version that I coudl move with a joystick / spot would be pretty slick on the trail!

Of course I'd need to actually wheel first. There's that.

I'd like a bar for my truck. Its newer than 1999 so its ok. The led's on my trailer are great too. But its also newer than 1999.

I love the look. There's a bar on there:

i bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SIIWO7I?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

be sure to check overall length. that one is 54.5" so it'll work with the brackets i bought. some lights are 51-59" wide and still claim to be a 50!

i installed those same tail lights, the black mounting ring and light retaining ring started to rust pretty quickly.... i had a couple 4" light mounting grommets laying around that i used then the light just pops into it. You see them mostly on trailers, they fit perfect and look much nicer, it also recesses them a bit. Should be able to find them at any decent trailer supply place.

i read that. i'm not real wild about the screws i used either. I'll probably order a pair of grommets and toss them in. Thanks!

I've been on the led bandwagon for a while got 4 20watt spots on my jeep and bunch of varius rock lights(ok technically underbody work lights),
hell finally the boss shelled out the cash at work to convert out HID fixtures to LED, we should have got 3.5K temp vs 55k but LED is here to stay

i kinda f'd up last night and lost control of the hole saw... sooooooooooooo i might end up putting corners on it at some point anyway just to cover the scratches lol. It was one of those "why did i just do that" moments. I wanted to drill a hole and instead of changing out the bit i just was like "oh i'll just use this hole saw bit since it's long (i put a longer bit in it) and like a dumbass accidentally drilled through and left a nice 180* half circle next to the tail light... sigh... that's what i get for working on it at 1 am...

got my light bar on though. not bad for under 200 bucks with mounts.

They have those standard 4" light rubber grommets at just about every truck stop like Flying J, Pilot, etc.
