jeep jk 6 speed transmission rebuild?

Found a rec to check out this forum over at jeepforum.com.

We have a 2009 JK with the manual transmission whose reverse gear is unhappy, and it's going to need a rebuild.
Hunting for a recommendation of a place or person to have do it. We live in the South Side, for what that's worth.

Won't do me much good; while my father got the Mopar Master Tech award he's now retired, and swapping out a trans is beyond both my skill set and the available tools and facilities.

I think what DMG was saying is that to rebuild the trans would be more hassle and cost than to replace it. You will still need to pay someone to pull the trans and reinstall no matter which route you go... DMG also owns a shop around here if you need someone to do the work.
