At that point, just slap an 8.8 in there, or you may even be able to track down an XJ44 which will bolt into your rig with no modifications whatsoever.

My boss has a 98 exploder rearend with 3:73 and I know where to get a set of 3:55 for the swap so I might jus have to see what involed in the swap. Just looking for a quick fix right now. Instead of going to a local junkyard.

I have an decent D35 carrier that I destroyed the spiders in if that helps. I might have a clean D35 also not sure if it is all there or not. Its in a spare zj I have from gonecheenin, both should be 3.55.

5 SPD XJs on the HRJA board had a rear 44 axle for sale. I'm not sure if he still does. PM me and I can find out.

Or I guess you can sign on and PM him yourself.

Nope, I robbed those gears before I sent her to you because that ZJ had the towing package with 3.73's and I needed them too match up with the diesel XJ HP30 I found

It does however have a LP 3.73 front end to match the 8.8 he said he found

I'll have a entire 3.55 setup (gears, carrier, spiders, Etc....) here in about a week if you still need one (Currently swapping out said 3.73's into my girls 94' ZJ that came with 3.55's)

 What's in there now? The carrier and spiders? Or nothing at all?

I figured he could just swap carriers and use the same rear gears to make it quick and easy.

Nothing at all, the shafts are just sitting in the housing to hold the rear of it up

I thought I mentioned i needed those when we talked about the jeep, if I didn't I do apologize :frown:

I dont know if ya said anything or not, can't remember. It actually is better that way for me. I didnt want to climb under it in the snow anyways. Now all I have to do is pop the calipers and I got the spare shafts. Sweet!!
