also...if anybody could help me figure out how to get my pictures to look better...i would appreciate that...i just dont think they look as clear and crisp as they should...

i am using a sony cybershot 5.1mp camera...should be sufficient? right? is there anything i should possibly do software wise to make them look better...thanks

The pics here and on your webshots page are at 800x600. That might have something to do with it. Do they look better on your PC directly from the camera?

I think the problem you're having is that you camera just isn't captureing the dynamic range that is there in person. Hence the shadows seem darker and the highlights seem lighter. You could try adjusting curves in photoshop or look into blending two exposures but that is one of the drawbacks of digital imaging sensors...which is ultimately why a 6 mp camera, for example, isn't always better than a 4 mp camera if that 4 mp camera can capture a greater dynamic range.

Your focus seems like it might be a bit soft as well -- you could try sharpening your photos in photoshop as well after you take them...just be careful not to oversharpen them.
