View Full Version : need new or used gear box for 93 xj

hi i kinda need a steering gear box for my xj its a 93 5speed 4.0 the lower half is starting to go on it an it is all over the road.... lower bearings going.... i am going to replace it with a high performance one from rustys or someone else my jeep is sitting 9 inches on 36's i got the over the knuckle conversion done but 15 + years an me beatin on it didnt help i was wondering if anyone has one that i can put in till i get the money to upgrade..... hey j if you are readin this could i get your one from your 96? thanks guys ~ phil

Soooooooooooo your at 9" and you dont have longarms?? Hows that ride treatin ya? :087:


And here I was thinking 4.5-5" was going to be pushing it on short arms! Geesh...must show how little I know :flamer:

AHHH got ya. Steering box. There's tons of them at D&D up near me, and I'm sure J still has his stuff from the red xj.

yea but tryin to get ahold of him is hard with him at school in all but yea my steering box it pretty much gone ... lol i hit a pot hole an it tries to take me into the cars on the side of the road... lol.....:120:

yea it sucks but the long arms are not finished yet watein on the joints from polly proformance

I have a trip to Vegas that leaves on friday and the following weekend I will be in Orlando.

how about 30 usd ? i called millerstown an that is what they told me for one... but i kinda cant get the jeep out that way when they are open due to the fact i am workin 2 jobs at the moment an btw the tj flares look cool on the jeep just watein for the marker lights to come in ....

what OTK steering do you have?

stock over the knuckle? Also...how do you get around cops?

well i welded it up myself an im useing 3/4 inch hiem joints ...dont get around all the cops especially etna cops but what am i gonna do?:039:yea it only cost me around 100 to weld it up since i used 1 1/8 tube it is plenty strong to ... compaired to 4-500 for a kit you still have to weld on ...
