I found this over on the NEC site...

About the M8000 SELF-RECOVERY WINCH:

Compact. Tough. An outstanding value. Available with hawse fairlead and 80 of 5/16" diameter wire rope, the M8000 pulls a fast 8ft. per minute at rated load. The 4.8 hp Series Wound motor delivers big torque and power. Includes an all-weather remote control on a 12' (3.7m) lead.

This winch has the classic Warn winch look. It also comes through in performance making it arguably the best bang-for-the-buck winch available. The 3 stage planetary gear ratio of 216-1 makes it the lowest geared in its class.

*This item requires a shipping surcharge of $17.99. Sorry, no C.O.D orders. Excludes AK and HI.

I don't know; I usually find even 4WDH's best prices to be absurdly high on the majority of parts. Often there's a good deal though.

Agreed. They are typically overpriced. I can say that because I tend to be a cheap bastid and look for the lowest price on EVERYTHING. (I stretch that dollar and I like it.)

The winch deal isn't too shabby though... and local (sorta.)
