Very simular to the Springfield XD 9mm Subcompact... I think the only difference is the ammo capacity.

It's nothing like an XD. I have an XD, and DP has two. This Beretta is SWEET. I was going to buy an XD compact, but this is now #1 on my list. I pissed around w/ one last week out at Ace in Washington.

They both

3in barrel
6.25in in length
weigh 26 ounces
plastic
subcompact
9mm
and they look pretty similar

I have never shot the beretta so I cannot compare that but Im just comparing specs.

Thats great. There are probably 500 other guns out there with that configuration when you factor in all the options. It's of a whole different breed...you'll have to play w/ one and then maybe you'll understand.

The one I looked at w/ night sights was $611, there were others for $550.

Does it come in .40? I personally wouldn't carry anything less.

WilberFJones

Yes, 9mm and .40

I'm considering one. It is SO much slimmer than the xd. That's the XD's only downfall IMO...which of course gives you less capacity, but I think it's a fair trade.

Oh and yeah, totally different beast than an XD.

Hey Steve, does it have an external thumb safety? That'd be the only thing I wouldn't like about it really. Not sure why, but I love the look of it, with the hammer and everything. Awesome carry piece.

hrmm 13+1 and 10+1 for the .40, not bad at all. I should go buy one now before I spend my money on other stuff I don't need. I'm going shopping tomorrow :D

Both of the models I looked at had the hammer drop safety shown in the picture you posted. You don't have to use it...and they do make it without that feature.

Even better: Springfield EMP (Elite Micro Pistol), Mini 1911.

Oh wow man I really like that a lot. Wanna go halves? I get it M, W, F you can get it T, Th, Sat...Sunday we'll lock it up or alternate. No, seriously though, $1300 is a bit much for me. Maybe next year.

If you need more than 7 rounds help better be on the way. I thought the sighting trough was a good idea. no sights to snag, and at the range most gunfights take place who needs em'.

Yeah it's rather pricey, but I also played w/ one of these at Ace too. It's the baddest lil 1911 I've ever held. I'm having a hard time deciding on what to buy. EMP, AR-15, or a sub compact of sorts...

I'd rather have 17 rounds than 7 though. You never know how many people are going to attack you or why. With 3 or 4 gunmen, I'm sure you'll wish you have 16+1 and another 16 in a spare mag, that's for sure.

If you don't mind the width of the xd, the sub-compact is definitely the way to go. I love mine...you are more than welcome to try mine on and my Comp-tac CTAC IWB also.

Being that I have an XD already, I'm sure I'd like the sub-comp model. I need to go shooting really badly. All of the public gamelands ranges are still closed for what they call "Severe lead contamination." IT'S AN OUTDOOR SHOOTING RANGE. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT???

Anyways...we'll go shootin one of these days. Big guns, little guns...I'll bring it all.

What??? I was all packed up to go yesterday and ended up working late so I didn't make it. I'm glad I didn't drive out there to find this out. Do you know how long, etc?

"Closed until further notice. Contact your local Game Commission office for details." That's what the website says.

It's an outdoor range...I don't see the issue. All I know is this. There are a lot of jacked off people that wanna sight their guns in for deer season, and can't go do so. Once the range re-opens...I can only imagine the circus it will be.

I have seen that at other ranges. They never seem to reopen. The DEP says that the lead seaps down into the water table.

Such as Burgettstown, which has been closed for how long now?

I was just told tonight that Greater Pittsburgh opened back up. My favorite range by far. 300 meter rifle range, 3 or 4 pistol ranges, skeet, trap, and a 100 yd rifle range that you can take whatever you want to shoot at.

I also have a sub compact xd40. great gun. I'm also a big fan of the Kimbers. There's just something about a .45

The only H&K I've ever shot was a USP. I hate it...can't get into it...and i can't shoot consistently accurate with it.

The H&K is what I have as a duty weapon. I love I love it. It is very accurate and feels perfect in my hand.

I have always wanted to give the USP a test drive. I have a P7 M8 which is a neat little gun. Super slim as well.

We need to have a range day in the near future. Look for it to happen and show up. I will bring a couple of USPs and you can try out any of them.

They're my hands. Just like my power tools, if they don't fit right...I won't use them. Like that Hilti screwgun I bought...it's 10x better than the DeWalt I was forced to use in the Union. Did I mention I HATE HK USP 40? LOL...
