hey whats up, first off i want to apologize for asking for m&g awhile ago and not going. My sisters son split his head open on an end of a table that night (few stitches but he was fine). felt bad about that and being a goast on here since know knows me or sees my yj. anyway haha,

im getting a hi-jack this weekend and wanted to play it safe and make sure it was legal.

thanks

Never once had a problem with mine. I mounted it with the 4xrac.

Its an old pic from over a year ago, but its still there.

As long as it is not obstructing your view, or hanging over the edge of the hood, I don't see it violating any laws.

I know alot of YJ guys mount it behind the rear jump seat.

Before Steve built me this latest rear bumper I was mounting the Hi-Lift on the rear roll bar behind the rear seat. It is easy enough to do. You can get the hardware needed to do it for under $10 at any Home Depot or Lowes.

I was on the back bumper, then the hood. I welded two bolts to the hinge then stuck some square tube to space it up.. easy as cake. I like it on the outside because it is less mess inside.

I have mine mounted behind the rear seat on L brackets that are bolted through the wheel wells. It keeps it safe and sec. it is out of the way and doesnt rattle. I also used a old shackle bushing to cushin the flat plate. so that didnt rattle.
