Looking at getting a hitch manly just for a bike rack no towing at all. Looking at hidden hitchs and curt manf hithces any opinions on either? Hidden looks better made and is cheaper and also allows the spare tire to remain underneath.

Well the nissan factory hitch is nice but brand new is like $300. My only problem is that there are hardly any nissan pathfinders in junkyards so my chances of finding one with a hitch is = 0.

why not just het a bike holder that straps down to the rear?
my parents have one that holds 3 bikes. I think they got it at wal mart.
or try to fab. up one.

Why not just get a good class III, as it will serve as an excellent recovery point? Draw-Tite, Reese, Curt, Hidden Hitch...they're all good.

I already have the hitch style that bolts up to the hitch and makes a right angle then holds the bikes.

I put a hidden hitch on my SUV mostly because it is well "hidden" underneath the vehicle. does not stick out hardly at all and they went to a nice smooth lined round tube style (most of the others were too boxy looking for me) that is a little more modern looking. I believe it was well under $200. class III with a 2" receiver. but like steve said all of those brands are good it just becomes personal preference.

My rack was built for a pickup bumper... (No clue why, just tossem in the bed!)
I just bolted it to a class 3 reciever, works really well.
