I like the idea of cuttin' the grill to recess teh winch, you gonna get a soft top for it?

Nice rig.
I ran 1-tons on my buggy (k5 chassis) this past spring with 35" boggers. Be prepared to drag over everything. Those tires have the traction of a 37, but the clearance of a 35. Nevertheless, I loved the boggers in mud and rocks. I grooved mine to help with lateral stability and to help the tire flex. It worked awesome.

well. finally i can steer again. after the last round of mods, we had it out and the steering box decided it didn't want to be attached to the frame anymore. the welded d60 i'm sure didn't help any.

i have pics but can't get them off my camera. got hydro assist installed this week. it steers like never before. fully locked and turns the wheels on pavement, while sitting still. flexed out a bit on a 2-3 foot stump and can still turn the tires. still need to mod the steering pump to get more speed and power, but it's sooo nice.

pics and video will follow.

dude, my blazer gets wheeled, it's not a driveway queen, what would be the sense of painting it only to get scraped off on the trails.

there's less sheet metal after today anyway, i had to clearance the tires some more.

my 78 wasn't as nice as it appeared in the picture. that thing was wheeled hard by the previous owner and just slapped back together to sell. it just looked good from far away. it was painted with some cheap ass centari right over the original paint just to make it look shiny. didn't even use primer. that pos truck wasn't worth anywhere near the 2200 i sold it for. edit: i'de still rattle can that one you have orange. chevys dont look right painted blue. blues for the ford guys. maybe i shouldn't have said wheeled. it was mud bogged.

you should have figured that out way before this post blair. half of the time the doors on that pig wouldn't even stay closed and about 90% of the time it wouldn't stay in park either. i carried a rock around with me to stick under the front wheel wherever i parked it.

Wheeled mud bogged doesn't mean a thing. You still admit it "wasn't worth anywhere near the 2200 you sold it for" so someone is gettin the shit end of the stick here, and you don't seem to care so long as it isn't you. Thanks for the heads up.

if anyone couldnt figure out that thing was bogged, they were blind. one look underneath or at the k&n filter on top of the carb that was pretty much 90% clogged with mud told that story.

i hate when people do that shit...even though the buyer is to blame for not doing the proper research....it still sucks to see someone get the dickshaft. like i always say....maybe some little old lady that doesnt know any better is buying it for her son or grandson, and you just totally ripped her off

the next thing i build/ finish will be a 1 ton chevy frame with an s-10 cab on it. i need less sheet metal and to be skinnier, and a big block engine.

You achieved skinnier yesterday at least :003:

That truck did damn good this weekend, I was impressed!

Course, it didn't make the waterfall like MFB, maybe you should take the rear shocks off? LOL

ya, that's gonna be the next mod for All of us, no shocks. ha ha.

now you see why i d60's, so i can beat the hell out of it with my v8. although i do see i need a lighter and thinner rig. been thinking all day today about s-10 cab swap, cause it's still gotta be chevy.

Pretty soon it will be the same size and weight of a JEEP. After that all you would need to do is get that front driveshaft on the correct side.:overkill:

been doing lots of work the past 2 weeks getting ready for the outback adventure this weekend.

installed a 396 big block chevy engine. new carb, holley truck avemger, to help with the fuel problem. took of the rear cap, narrowed the front end by trimming down the rad support. hopefully get some pictures this weekend.
