I might be tapping my box and adding a ram this winter to do some poor-mans hydro assist, I can't turn when my engines at idle and im wedged up on rocks, and giving it enough gas to turn those wheels is just another thing to worry about.

Poor mans hydro assist is my speciality, build it for 25 bux sound about right?
http://p087.ezboard.com/fblacklistwheelersassociation40687frm11.showMessag e?topicID=46.topic

My bud Dusty (the green flame monster jeep on blwa) did a full hydro. Being able to ditch the drag link is aewsome and makes the full hydro a much better set up, I will have full hydro soon for that very reason. HOWEVER, from what I have seen compared to dustys anyway my assist is stronger. His will still not turn at times when bound up, mine never flinches, if the front is bound up it will either slide the ass of the truck, push the boulder out of the way or rip the tie rods apart. I dont know if its the ram I used that makes the difference or what, I did put a slower ratio (stronger) box on my truck, it may take some of the blame. Anyway the moral of the story is do the assist, you will wonder how you ever wheeled without it...but carry spare tie rod ends, Ive pulled mine apart several times so far (even sheered 2 of them off) still its well worth it.

well a: the tierod is a stock v8 zj tierod, they are like that to clear the spring purch and the swaybar bracket off the axle.

I bought a 74 cj5....i wish it was a flatty!

I'm going 39.5" iroks (hopefully), the back is a corp 10.5, 5.13, full detroit, setup for coilovers and tri-link. front is a HP60, maybe arb.

would like to 4link the front and full hydro on air shox all around, but we'll c. Might just put it on the 7.5" re springs and normal shox.
