What is the attachment on the bottom of the magazine?

Haha for w/e reason it looks to me like something you would clip it to your belt with.

Ahhh ok. Doesnt make much since seeing as how once you hit the magazine release button it pretty much falls out on its own.

That is where MagPul got their start. It's called the Magpul, and it does exactly what you think it does. Its also for retention, so you don't have to lose them, if you want to string them off or something.
